On Aug. 14, eight students completed the First Fast Track Class in Petroleum Process Technology at the Reserve campus of South Central Louisiana Technical College.

These students successfully accomplished the intense program in 16 weeks that regular program students complete over 18 months.

Students that made up the inaugural class were Adam St. Pierre, Charles Ruffino, Elton Oubre, Cheyenne Sibus, Clint Wattigney, Tanisha Watson, James Clark and Kyle Manor. We would like to congratulate them once again for this achievement.

Fast Track Program Guide: Potential students with an Associate’s or higher degree, including nine required General Education courses, may apply for admission into the special cohort.

They undergo 16 weeks of intense, PTEC course training to earn the Associate of Applied Science Degree.

Classes are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. for the entire program.

South Louisiana Technical College is now accepting applications for the new class that will begin Jan. 11.

For complete details on how to apply for this class, send an email with your contact information ptecfasttrack@scl.edu.

The deadline for applications is Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. We have the full support of local industry, and they are excited about the additional work force being put out in the local community.

With expansions and growth in the tri-parish area at remarkable levels, work force development is high on everyone’s list of priorities. South Central Louisiana Technical College is proud to be an integral part of the development of Work Force in the area.
