Dear Parent or Guardian:
We are pleased to inform you that St. John The Baptist Parish Public Schools will be implementing a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for School Year 2015-2016.
The following schools are included in the CEP: West St. John Elementary, Garyville Mt. Airy Magnet, East St. John Elementary, Lake Ponchartrain Elementary and Fifth Ward Elementary.
What does this mean for your children attending the CEP school(s) identified above?
Great news for you and your students!
All enrolled students of the school sites listed above are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the school year.
No further action is required of you. Your child (ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.
What does this mean for other children NOT attending the school(s) identified above?
If other children attend our public schools NOT listed above, a meal application must be completed for them to qualify for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
Applications can be completed on-line at
applyforlunch.com.
If we can be of any further assistance, please contact the Child Nutrition Department at 985-536-1106, ext. 8129, 8116 or 8119.
Sincerely,
