NEW ORLEANS — Edwa Jackson was amazed at how many people from throughout the country recently gathered with her in New Orleans.
Jackson, a practical nursing student at South Central Louisiana Technical College, Reserve Campus, recently attended the New Cardiovascular Horizons Conference at the Roosevelt New Orleans.
Conference workshops focused on the latest research studies in cardiovascular medicine.
Physicians, nurses, cath lab and River Region students heard and saw the latest cardiovascular techniques and procedures.
“There were so many live cases,” Jackson said. “The vendors were eager to share information on their products with us.”
Local student Chelsea Foseca said attending the conference boosted her desire to succeed and become a part of the medical profession.
“It was exciting to see the new advances and techniques that are happening today,” she said.
SCLTC’s practical nursing class attended, along with instructors Christina Costanza and Debbie Zeringue.
