Say ‘Yes’ to St. John millage renewal

Dear Editor,
On Saturday, May 2, voters will decide whether or not to renew an existing millage that provides funding for maintenance and operations at the Percy Hebert Building, the Parish Courthouse in Edgard and the jail.
This millage is not a new tax nor a tax increase. It is a renewal of an existing millage.
Renewing this millage will not create a new tax or increase the property taxes we already pay. It will simply continue to allow $450,000 to be collected yearly to fund the operations and services provided at these important parish facilities.
Please join me in voting “Yes,” on Saturday, May 2, to renew this millage so parish government can continue to serve the citizens of St. John the Baptist Parish — with no increase in taxes.
