LULING — Digital Media Team Members at the St. Charles Satellite Center recently worked with Digital Media students from The Academy Charter High School in Santa Ana, Calif., to give feedback on presentations they created.

The Academy Charter High students have been creating T-shirt designs for the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks.

Students created a presentation that showcased their work so they could share ideas with Ducks’ representatives. Teacher Gabriele Cheng wanted his students to practice and get feedback so Cheng reached out to St. Charles Parish.

Because the schools are in different time zones, Cheng recorded the students in his first period class and shared the videos with Rhitt Growl.

Growl and his team members watched the videos, discussed their thoughts and recorded them in a Google Doc shared with Cheng, who shared the file with his students and reviewed the comments together.

Since Cheng’s third period class was later in the day, those students were able to give their presentations live via Skype to Growl’s afternoon Digital Media class. There were six presentations given during the Skype session. During each presentation, Digital Media Team Members took notes and gave feedback to the presenters.
