St. John Parish soliciting licensed construction contractors

LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish is soliciting licensed contractors to perform construction services for rehabilitation, reconstruction and elevation of residential structures in compliance with requirements of the CDBG Isaac Housing Programs, which includes homeowner rehabilitation, housing elevation and small rental rehabilitation.
Contractors interested in participating in the elevation program are invited to attend an informational meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, and those interested in the home rehabilitation and small rental rehabilitation programs are invited to attend an informational meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Meetings will be held in the Council Chambers, located in the Percy Hebert Building, 1801 W. Airline Hwy. in LaPlace.

“I encourage our local contractors to review all requirements and deadlines and submit proposals to participate in these programs,” Parish President Natalie Robottom said. “We have millions of dollars available to assist residents with repairs to their homes and this is an opportunity for our local contractors to benefit from these funds.”
Robottom said contractors will be selected for the Qualified Contractor Pool based on pricing, capacity, capability and performance.
