BOUTTE — More than $13,000 worth of cell phones were stolen from Walmart in Boutte Monday morning, authorities said.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating the shoplifting complaint after two young black males, “possibly juveniles,” stole approximately $13,600 worth of cell phones, a release from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities believe two males entered the store at approximately 4:20 a.m. Monday, forced open a glass-front cell phone cabinet in the electronics department and stole 12 cellular phones, which included 10 I-Phones and two Samsung devices.
Sheriff Greg Champagne released pictures of those believed responsible for the thefts.
Anyone with information on the identities of those involved or any information about the shoplifting is asked to contact Detective Jody Weems at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.
Authorities said the two people pictured fled the business and were possibly picked up by a third person who was driving a black four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima.
Residents can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-877-903-STOP. Callers do not have to give their name or testify and could receive up to $2,500.
