Nelda Gay Carpenter Graves, 82, of Longmont passed after complications following a long battle with Alzheimers.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter. She was born April 2, 1932, to Paul Garrett and Nell Merle Adrian Carpenter in Colorado City, Texas.
On March 18, 1951, she married Archie Harvey Graves in Colorado City, Texas. He passed away June 7, 1997.
Nelda earned her BS from Louisiana State University in 1965 and started her career as a teacher. She retired in 1992 from teaching in St Charles Parish. She was a member of the LSU Alumni and Longmont Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters Georgia Sue Berzas and Glenna Carole Glover. Her grandchildren, Roger Val Stoltz III, Bryan Christopher Stoltz, Sabrina Kaye Stoltz, John McCoy Glover, Melissa Ellen Glover. Her Great Grandchildren, Victoria Eileen Schleeter, Dylan James Schleeter, Addalyn Cache Stoltz, Isabella Grace Stoltz Horsby Michael Glover Alexandra Glover; Brothers and Sisters, Wanda Sue Edmondson (deceased) Bobbie Glen Carpenter (deceased).
A visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 25 at 9 a.m. at the Longmont Church of Christ followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, donation’s may be made to The Alzheimers Association, The Mountain States Childrens Home or TRU Community Care Hospice c/o Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services.
