Keller: Beautiful lives shown in Instagram of babies

Published 11:45 pm Friday, September 12, 2014

As I was in bed dozing off the other night, Jeanne thought it necessary to interrupt me.

“Harold, you have to see this Instagram!” It was the ultrasound of our granddaughter Brittany’s twins to be born in three weeks. The babies, a boy and a girl, will be our 10th and 11th great-grandchildren.

Zachary and Zoey are the names that have been chosen.

It is amazing what modern technology has accomplished in my lifetime.

The babies looked like they were counting the days before entering the world, side by side, with both of their faces clearly visible.

Jeanne and I are anxiously awaiting their arrival.

Brittany and Justin have a two-and-a-half year old son named Isaac who is as active as any little boy.

Jeanne is worried about Brittany having to handle three children. I’m worried about our daughter Ann and her husband Michael (Brittany’s parents) who will have added responsibilities as grandparents.

When Jeanne finally decided to leave the room I tried to go to sleep, but I couldn’t. My thoughts were on the picture of the twins.

Being a strong pro-life advocate, I wondered how any human could believe in abortion after viewing what I just did.

I wondered how many doctors in America had aborted babies at that stage of life and called it a choice, not murder.

I am reminded of what God’s Word says, “I knew you even before you were in your mother’s womb.” Jeremiah 1:5

I’ve known people who profess to be Christians and pro-choice. That contradicts God’s Word.

I believe it’s impossible to be a child of God and pro-choice.
