DESTREHAN – The eighth annual German Coast Farmers’ Market Kid Krewe du Market was held on Feb. 22 at the Ormond Plantation in Destrehan.

Board member Ann Montgomery was on hand at the parade to introduce the participants.

Nicole Hue, 10, was named as the queen of the krewe for the third consecutive year. Abigayle Torres, Aleenah Alleman and Patricia Furman all  rode on floats and tossed beads to the crowd.

Every year, children ages 10 and younger are invited to participate in the parade. Decorated wagon “floats” are pulled by adults as the children throw beads to market vendors and attendees.
