LAPLACE – The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of the theft of a wallet.
The victim told deputies she accidentally left her wallet on the counter after she conducted business at a bank in Reserve. When she realized she had forgotten her wallet, she called bank personnel to check for the wallet. After bank employees viewed video surveillance of the bank, they saw that an unidentified woman took the wallet and exited the bank.
Detectives identified the perpetrator as Rebecca Thiery, 41, of Reg Park Road in Reserve and located her at the residence. Thiery cooperated with detectives in the investigation and was in possession of the stolen wallet. She was arrested and booked with theft. She remains in custody in lieu of a $500 bond.
Thiery has been arrested 18 times in St. John Parish since August 1993.
