Paul Anthony Tassin, 70, passed away Aug. 6, 2013, peacefully, with family at his side. He was born on Jan. 7, 1943, and was a native of Reserve and a resident of LaPlace for 48 years.
He was married to the love of his life and was a devoted husband to Janice Jacob Tassin for 48 years. He was the son of the late Norbert Tassin Jr. and the late Eunice Tassin, father of Troy Tassin and Dana Tassin Mulkey, grandfather to Trace and Madison Tassin, Erica “Toot” Tassin, Amanda and Kristin Firmin, William “Billy” Mulkey III and Zachary Mulkey and great-grandfather to Ryley Onebene. He was the brother of Donald Tassin, the late Larry Tassin and Patricia Ocmand and father-in-law to Robin Tassin.
Paul served in the USAF active duty forces from 1960-1964. After a small break from the military, he decided to re-enlist with the 159th Communications Flight based out of USNAS, New Orleans, and worked as an information systems supervisor. In 1980 he made the move to the 236th CISS LANG unit based out of Hammond as an info systems OPS supervisor. He ended his career working as a recruiter, effectively retiring with the rank of master sergeant.
He will be greatly missed by all. He was a daughter’s hero, a son’s inspiration and a grandchild’s knight in shining armor.
Visitation and services were held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in LaPlace. Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, was in charge of the arrangements. To sign and view the family guestbook, visit www.roselynnfuneralhome.com
