2 charged in St. James murder

CONVENT – The St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested and booked a Waggaman man in connection with a 2012 crime, the parish’s first murder since 2008.
Timothy Moll, 24, of 381 Blossom Court in Waggaman, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder.
Aaron Jones and his fiancé were attacked outside of their residence located in the Magn-olia Public Housing Complex on May 11. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. James Parish Coroner’s Office, while his fiancé was transported to the hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Moll is currently incarcerated at the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail awaiting bond. Moll is the second individual to be arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Jones. On May 14, Joseph Johnson, 27, was also charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder.
Johnson was subsequently indicted by a St. James Parish Grand Jury on July 12, 2012. Johnson is currently being held at the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail under a $270,000 bond.
