LAPLACE — Sheriff Mike Tregre announced a new anonymous tip line on Wednesday that the citizens of St. John the Baptist Parish can use to pass on pertinent information about current investigations or possible criminal activity to detectives.
The tip line number is 985-359-TIPS (985-359-8477).  The line will be answered by detectives and is available 24/7. When no one is available to answer a call, the caller’s recorded message will be forwarded to a detective by email.
“You don’t have to give your name. I don’t want to track your number. Just tell me what I need to know to get the people that need to be off the streets off the streets,” said Tregre.
 Residents who need the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office, fire department or  ambulance services should always dial 911. The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division drug hotline remains the same at 985-652-DRUG (985-652-3784).
