VIZCAINO

John Joseph Vizcaino Jr. was born on July 27, 1939, in Philadelphia. On Nov. 23, 2012, in the presence of his loving wife of 36 years who he leaves to mourn at his home, he entered into eternal rest.

He was the son of the late Martha Carroll and John J. Vizcaino Sr., beloved father of Angela “Angie” Marie Netto (Jason Eddie Netto), beloved grandfather of Alaina Marie “Minnie” Roberts, Jason Eddie “Lil J” Netto Jr. and future great-grandfather to Levi Joseph Roberts, all of St. Rose. He was also father of John J. Vizcaino lll and family, stepfather of Earline (Gary) Duplessis Sr. and family, Debra Tomkins  (Danny) also Diane (Alvin) Louque Sr. and family.

He is also survived by his loving brother, George Vizcaino of Las Cruces, N.M.

As a young man in the late 1950s, John enlisted in the U.S. Air force and was stationed in Adak, Alaska. He was sent to Alexandria, La., with an honorable discharge. He fell in love with Louisiana, moved to New Orleans in the early 1960s, began a career as a carpenter and worked in many of the beautiful homes in the Garden District. After he moved to LaPlace and found the love of his life in 1976 (whom he was with until God called him home), he began his first home-building company in 1980 (Future Builders Inc.). Around 1990, he started Alliance Home Inc. and Alliance Home Builders Inc., and around 1994 he partnered with Robert Carroll and Skip Leach to form Magnolia Land Development and Magnolia Homes Inc.

John also was a member in the 1980s of the Kiwanis LaPlace Chapter and the Louisiana Home Builders of Greater N.O. in the 1990s.

There are some special people that cannot go without being mentioned. His second best fishing buddy, Lance C. Roberts, his golf buddies brother-in-law Tom Monk Sr., Gary Duplessis, Jason E. Netto Sr. and many others, his pool league buddies, Jim Manganello, Marty Lougue, and the S.L.A.P.P. League and the crew from Rusty’s, and a grandson who is in the U.S. Army, Specialist Alvin P. Lougue Jr. (Gwen) 35 Foxtrot stationed in Afghanistan. There are also four special people he considered as his “stepchilln,” Melinda T. Guerra, Tina M. LeBlanc, Cassie A. Clement and Melissa A. Zulli.

He was preceded in death by his loving sister Joan Scorpio and half-brother William Carroll and Jon Carroll, his precious mother-in-law, Juanita Bell Monk, whom he called his hero, and his two beloved pets, Rocky and Redbud.

Services to be held at Millet Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace. Harold J. Keller will officiate. Vistation will be held on Saturday, Dec 1, 2012, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held 11 a.m., with the funeral procession immediately following to Garden Of Memories on Airline Drive in Metairie.
