St. John the Baptist Parish held its annual Thanksgiving meal for seniors Wednesday at the New Wine Complex in LaPlace. Mercy Chefs, with the help of many local groups including St. John Parish Government, Sheriff’s Office and Public School System and Walgreens, prepared and served a midday meal for the parish’s senior citizens as well as a 6 p.m. meal for residents severely affected by Hurricane Isaac.
