Theodore Cannon, 88, died on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve.

He was the son of the late John and Zelma Cannon, husband of Winnie Cannon for 63 years, father of Joy Cannon, Marsha Wilson, Lisa Cannon, Glenn Cannon (Bonnie), Bruce Cannon (Reonda) and Barry Cannon (Anitra) and brother of Theresa Cannon, Lorraine Lorio, Loresta Cannon and the late John, Oscar, Gracie and Verdell Cannon. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was a native and resident of Lucy. He was an Army veteran serving as both an automotive mechanic and rifle marksman in World War II and was awarded two bronze stars. He retired from Avondale Shipyards after 38 years.

Relatives and friends of the family, also priests and parishioners of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2361 Louisiana Highway 18, Edgard, on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. Father Robustiano Morgia is celebrant. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Edgard. Visitation will be at the above-named church from 9 a.m. until Mass time. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home nurses and staff for their care and kindness.
