ABADIE

Julius “Abbie” Randal Abadie, 77, died peacefully in his sleep on April 12, 2012, at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve in the care of In His Care Hospice.  He was a native of Edgard and a resident of Gramercy.  

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Thelma Rodrigue Abadie; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Tim Gustafson, Marie and Dean Kinchen, Liz and Ken Petit and Vickie and Mike DiCarlo; and sons and daughters-in-law:  Jeff and Geri Abadie and Steve and Mitzie Abadie.  He is also survived by his brother, Curtis Abadie, and 14 grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philomene Roussel and Louis Benoit Abadie, sisters  Audrey Chauvin and Mary Deryl Seemann, brother Francis Wade Abadie Sr. and granddaughter Lauren Abadie.  

He was retired from DuPont Pontchartrain Works in LaPlace.  

Visitation will be Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Lutcher Chapel in, Lutcher followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Paulina.  Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, is in charge of the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 910 Pierremont Road, Suite 410, Shreveport, LA 71106.  To sign and view the family guestbook, visit www.roselynnfuneralhome.com.
