A wide load transport through St. John the Baptist Parish early Saturday will cause lane closures in LaPlace on Airline Highway and Louisiana 3217, according to a release from the state Department of Transportation and Development.

Starting at midnight on Saturday, westbound lanes of Airline Highway between Louisiana 628 (C.C. Road) and Louisiana 3217 will have slow rolling closures as the wide load is transported along the highway. The rolling closures are expected to end by 1 a.m.

During this hour-long period, all traffic will be allowed to follow the slow-moving equipment. However, motorists may want to consider an alternate route to avoid this area during this closure.

Following that closure, Louisiana 3217 between Airline Highway and River Road will completely shut down starting at 2 a.m. Saturday. The closure will last until 3 a.m.
