Ruth Schexnaydre Maurin, 86, entered her eternal reward after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011.

She was the beloved wife of the late Louis “L.J.” Maurin Jr. and mother of Louis Maurin III, Emma Lou Boe (Caire), Patricia Bossier (Jerry), Deborah Baudouin (Will) and David Maurin (Donna). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Emilien and Emelda Ory Schexnaydre and sister of Vivian St. Pierre, Emile Schexnaydre and the late Shirley St. Pierre.

She was a native of New Sarpy and a resident of Reserve.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Louisiana Highway 44, Reserve, on Saturday Aug. 6, 2011, 8-10 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge are preferred. Arrangements are by Millet-Guidry Funeral Home of LaPlace.
