Judge J. Sterling Snowdy, who helped plan the Reserve150 celebration from the beginning, was given the honor of lighting the bonfire that was the culminating event in the town’s birthday celebration on Christmas Eve. The bonfire was built by Pete McGraw and sons Sean and Pierre in front of Breaux’s Barber Shop on Louisiana Highway 44 in Reserve. A special Reserve150 cake was created by Carrie’s Cake World and served, and a Reserve150 book was signed by visitors, including Jacob Logan, shown here. The Reserve150 committee kicked off the festivities on July 3 and held a cemetery walk at St. Peter Cemetery, a family fun day, a movie premier for the documentary about the community and a ceremony to bury a 50-year time capsule, among other events.
