LUTCHER – As of Thursday the public restroom facility at the Lutcher Recreation Park is complete, just in time for the Festival of the Bonfires event this weekend.

Construction took the parish’s crew of electricians and carpenters only six weeks to finish construction.

Both facilities meet ADA standards and consist of five compartments, each complete with central air and heat. Funding for the new facility was provided from the Parks and Recreational Fund at no cost to St. James Parish residents.

The total cost for the project was about $54,000.

The new facilities will be available to the public during events.
