RJ Vial participates in the Department of Education’s Student of the Year Program. Nominees must be in fifth grade and have maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA since third grade. Qualified students then had to complete a portfolio that included any recognitions, honors and activities. Nominees also had to complete a writing response as part of the criteria. The final portion of the selection process was to be interviewed by a panel of judges. Donna Hinrichs was announced R.J. Vial’s Student of the Year.
