State Police have reopened Interstate 10 after an earler accident involving an 18-wheeler shut down all eastbound lanes of the span over the Bonnet Carre Spillway.
Authorities said the truck lost its trailer after it jacknifed while traveling on the bridge. No injuries have been reported at this time. The truck was trying to avoid a vehicle pullling to the side of the road with a flat tire.
Drivers are still seeing several miles of delays on the interstate, US Highway 51 and Airline Highway as a result of the accident.
