RESERVE – Citizens will get a chance to offer their input on the St. John the Baptist Parish school system’s proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
Tomorrow, the central office will hold a public hearing on the 2010-11 budget for the general and special revenue funds and the salary schedule at 4 p.m. at the office in Reserve. According to district Media Coordinator Heidi Trosclair, at this time the general public is welcome to come in and voice their opinions regarding the financial plan.
The public may come in and view the budget at the central office any time before the public hearing.
The budget was presented to the school board Aug. 5 and has not been changed since that time, according to Executive Director of Business and Finance Felix Boughton. The board will vote on the budget at its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in Reserve.
Also at tomorrow’s meeting, Superintendent Courtney Millet will give an update on the district’s first days of school and discuss the results from summer LEAP testing.
Additionally, Director of Human Resources Leigh Ann Beard will seek approval for a revised 2010-11 school calendar, and CSRS will update the board on the progress of the various school construction projects throughout the parish.
