Knights and Ladies, but this isn’t Camelot

EDGARD – The Knights of Peter Claver and their Ladies’ Auxiliary recently celebrated their 80th anniversary at a ceremony at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard.
The Knights of Peter Claver – Fr. Stenman Council No. 66 was founded on June 6, 1930 in Edgard under the leadership of the following Knights: Charlie Hilaire, Angelo Barre, Syvio Boudoin, Jim Bossier, Ferdinand Dinvaut, Felix Fiffie, James Lumar, Ross Mitchell and Etienne Wilson.
The Ladies Auxiliary — Our Lady of Perpetual Help Court No. 66 was founded on July 20, 1930 in Edgard under the leadership of the following ladies: Josephine Bartholomew, Alma Brown, Marie Bossier, Eunice Boudoin, Virginia Boudoin, Willie Mae Dinvaut, Ester Johnson, Olympia Johnson, Antoinette Weber, Elnora Wilson, Lena Dinvaut and Malvina Pierre.
The ceremony also honored two older members of the organization still active in the group. Past Grand Knight O’Neal Duronslet and Alfred Bossier.
The Knights of Peter Claver is an organization based on the life of a man who experienced the trials and tribulations that tested and brought out the best in a servant of God whose life was grounded in humility, patience and complete submission to the will of God.
