To the Editor:

I would like to personally thank all of the voters who took the time to vote on Saturday, April 4, 2009. This election was very important in determining the forward progress of our parish. All of the initiatives have passed and the parish officials are gearing up for lots of improvements all around us. I especially want to thank the voters for passing initiative N o. 5, which was to support parish recreation development. The building of character and leadership skills takes place at home, at school and sometimes through participation in organized sports. The youth of this parish deserve a place to grow and develop. The building of the new sports center will give our kids this opportunity. Thanks again for the vote of support to the kids of St. John Parish.
