Do you think you are the sweetest girl in the parish?

 The St. John Sugar Queen Pageant Committee is seeking contestants for their 60th Anniversary Pageant on August 9, 2008.

Contestants must be between the ages of 17 and 23 and a resident of St. John the Baptist Parish. The winner will receive a scholarship. The queen will also go on to compete in the Louisiana Queen Sugar Pageant in New Iberia in September.

To compete in the state pageant, the girl must be between the ages of 18 and 22.

The St. John Sugar Queen represents St. John the Baptist Parish and the sugar industry during her reign. She will have the opportunity to travel to many fairs and festivals across our wonderful state of Louisiana.

Tickets for the pageant will go on sale August 5th, 6th & 7th @ 6:00 pm- 7:00 pm @ St. John Theatre lobby. Diane Jacob is director of all ticket sales, any questions should be directed to her.
