LAPLACE – Authorities with the St. John Sheriff’s Office are investigating a mid-afternoon burglary and robbery of a LaPlace man.
According to Maj. Mike Tregre, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, two black teenagers entered a residence in the 2700 block of Yorktowne Drive and demanded money from the 34-year-old man residing in the home.
Tregre said the intruders wore all black, and held their hands under their shirts, implying that they were armed with guns. He said the men did not show a weapon to the victim.
The two suspects took an unknown amount of cash from a coffee table near the front door and fled the house, running down the canal bank near the residence.
Tregre said the teenage suspects are both very thin and wore black hooded sweatshirts. One suspect is about 5 feet tall, and the other is about 5 feet, 5 inches in height.
