LaPlace I-10 lane closure this week

LAPLACE – The Louisiana DOTD will be doing construction on the eastbound Interstate 10 near the LaPlace weigh scales. The work will force the closure of the left lane of I-10 between exits 206 and 209.
The project to remove a detour road should be completed on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008. Drivers can expect to see workers between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Although the DOTD does not expect the construction to cause any major delays, they do suggest drivers exit at LA 3188, take that road south to US 61 (Airline Highway) and then take 61 to US 51. Commuters can then take 51 north back to I-10.
