Rebels host track and field meet

RESERVE — Riverside held a meet this week in track and field, inviting St. Charles, West St. John, St. James, John Curtis, St. Thomas Aquinas and Fisher.
St. Thomas Aquinas came out on top in both the girls and boys final scores, while the SCC girls and the Lady Rebs got second and third respectively.
Highlights for the host team include Jesse LeBlanc taking first in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:54, and senior Lee Haydel placing second in the 100. Haydel was .46 seconds behind John Curtis standout Joe McKnight, who was regarded as one of the state’s premiere football safeties.
St. Charles Reyna Lubin placed first in the 400 meters and second in the 100, where teammate Katie Tregre edged her out by .02 seconds.
