RESERVE- Jarid Caesar and Jesse Le Blanc led the Rebels past Ecole, 47-43 and improve to an overall record of 4-9.
“Just coming from a win, the team felt good coming into tonight’s game.” Coach Tommy Monier said after last Tuesday night’s victory.
“We are still a young team making mistakes, but the team is starting to show more confidence as they turn the corner into a really good team.” Monier stated.
Bobby Smith, Benny Gomez and Robert Tamplain led the Rebels defensive aggression against the Spartans, keeping Ecole from scoring less than ten points in the first three quarters.
In the first half of play, David Serven led the Rebels to an explosive start scoring six points within the first seconds of play. Gomez and Caesar kept the momentum going for the Rebels scoring a combined 14 points that gave Riverside a 23-17 lead at the half.
The Rebels came out into the second half with Le Blanc and Caesar matching up offensively to dispell any hint of a Spartans rally. Smith, Gomez and Tamplain turned up the heat defensively rendering a fourth quarter surge from the Spartans meaningless.
“There are areas that we still, as a team, need to work on but any game that ends with a win is a good game.” Monier stated at the end of the game.
