LAPLACE – Every business around is always looking for some way to increase sales.
But the Rainbow Chevrolet-Pontiac dealership in LaPlace, as part of the national General Motors Employee Pricing Sale, is finding the newest promotion from its corporate company to be something that even they never imagined.
GM dealerships across the country are currently in the midst of a promotion which offers employee car and truck prices to any customer who walks in the door. Price cuts of approximately $10,000 are common.
The result for the LaPlace Rainbow dealership has seen double the number of sales for a normal June, according to General Sales Manage Mike Beebe.
“In a word, we are ecstatic,” Beebe said. “We expected this offer to bring in new business, but we really can’t believe what has happened.”
The promotion runs until July 5.
“We want people to realize that American made cars and trucks are the best to get, especially when you consider what it does for the American economy,” Beebe explained. “Every day nearly 1 million Americans earn their living helping GM build and sell cars in the United States.
A lot of foreign manufacturers try to ‘wrap themselves in the American flag,’ but the truth is that the contributions to the U.S. economy by our foreign competition cannot compare to those made by GM.”
He said that GM is the only domestic manufacturer to rank above industry average in JDP Vehicle Dependability, with a 40 percent improvement in the last three years. Examples of that, he said, are that Cadillac cars outranked Lexus, while Buick and Cadillac both finished higher than Toyota.
In the past five years, GM has invested over $20 billion in the U.S. economy, and GM’s contribution to the U.S. Gross National Product is about four times that of Toyota.
