GARYVILLE – Ruth Ann Daigle Giffin, 68, native and resident of Garyville, died March 24. She was the wife of Clark West Giffin Jr.

She is survived by her two daughters Terri Hunter and Anne Higgins and two sons Chuck and David Giffin.
She is also survived by a sister, a brother, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Services were held Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Armant with internment in church mausoleum.
NORCO- Earline Ayme Walsh, 95, a native of Norco and recent resident of Metairie, died March 24. She was the wife of the late Morris Walsh.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 13 brothers and sisters.
Services were held Monday at the H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco with internment in the St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
VACHERIE – James “Jim” Chenier Sr., 70, a native and resident of Vacherie, died March 26. He was the husband of Loretta L. Chenier.
He is survived by four sons Arlan, Glen, Carl, and James Chenier, two daughters Nora Morris and Cindy Dupre.
He is also survived by four brothers, one sister, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter Flora.
Services were held Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie with internment in church cemetery.
LULING – Norman Rice, 45, a native of Honduras and resident of Luling, died March 22. He was the son of Maria Castro Rice.
He is survived by five brothers Jaime, Franklin, Walter, Wilfredo and Justo Castro and three sisters Daisy Boover, Ena Oro, and Irma Rogers.
Services were held Monday at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home with internment in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
DESTREHAN – Jerry L. Brock, Jr., 30, a native of Metairie and resident of Destrehan, died March 25. He was the son of Jerry L. Brock Sr. And Mary Robeau Gros.
He is survived by his children Melody and Anthony, step-father James E. Gros, Jr., step-brother James Gros and his gradparents Elaine Gros and Lillian Brock.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home , Metairie with internment in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
WALLACE – Anicet “BoCat” Bastian Sr., 98, a native and resident of Wallace, died March 23. He was the husband of the late Ernestine Harris Bastian.
He is survived by his children Warren, Hennessey and Gerald Bastian and Frances B. Willis.
He is also survived by four sisters, three brothers, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the St. Phillip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with internment in the church mausoleum.

ST. ROSE – Arthur Blue, 89, a resident of St. Rose, died March 25. He was the husband of Ida Ruth V. Blue.
He is survived by his children Berrlyn B. Watson, Rev. Arthur C. Blue and Alfretta B. Washington.
He is also survived by his sister Gladys B. White, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, St. Rose with internment at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, St. Rose.
DESTREHAN – Stephen Anthony Frechou, 52, a native of New Orleans and resident of Destrehan, died March 26. He was the husband of Marie Frechou.
He is survived by his children Jennifer F. Durand, Sgt. Christopher and Officer Stephen Frechou, Jr.
He is also survived by four step-sons, three step-daughters, 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Metairie with internment in Metairie Cemetery.
NORCO – Shirley Deroche Colon, 92, a native of Gramercy and resident of Norco, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Russell Colon.
She is survived by her son, daughter and their spouses Royce and Ann Colon and Sheila and Noe Legaux.
She is also survived by three half-brothers, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 11a.m. at the H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco with internment in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco.

GARYVILLE – Bro. Arthur “Nook” Fleming, 75, a native and resident of Garyville, died March 25. He was the son of the late Louis Fleming and Louisa Baloney Burl.
He is survived by his three brothers Albert “Red Bill” Burl, Huey P. Sr. And Ernest Fleming Sr.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law Evelyn S. Fleming and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at New Hopeful Baptist Church, Garyville with internment in the Marathon Bishop Cemetery, Garyville.
Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m.
