LaPLACE-When you are your team’s ace pitcher and you are expected to go out there and perform every game, you will have your good games and your bad ones.
St. Charles Catholic ace pitcher Mary Clement had her good game, a no-hitter against St. James on Tuesday in a 10-0 victory over the Lady Cats. Clement took the loss later in the week in a battle with rival Lutcher as the Lady Comets were defeated 2-0.
Against St. James, Clement struck out 12 batters and walked only one in five innings of work. She was also 1-2 at the plate.
Against Lutcher, Clement (5-5-1) went the complete seven innings, allowing only two hits, striking out and walking two as St. Charles Catholic suffered their 11th defeat of the season.
For the year, the Comets are 6-11 overall in 2005, but an impressive 3-1 in district 10-3A.
