EDGARD-Same old story.

WSJ plays, WSJ wins.

For Rams fans, it never gets old.

The West St. John boys picked up another blowout victory on Friday night when they defeated Fisher, 90-38.

Four players tied for the lead in points for the rams as Dana Stipe, Dehaven Butler, Tyren Johnson and Denarold Anderson all had 14 points. Kevin Wright also added 10 points in the victory.

With only two games remaining in the regular season, the win pushes the Rams to 21-2 and a perfect 8-0 in district 10-2A play.

WSJ concludes their season this week when they travel to Buras on Friday after taking on St. Martin’s yesterday.

“We just came out with some intensity,” WSJ head coach Antoine Edwards said. “I really like the intensity level that we had the other night. We jumped on them from the beginning and I thought that was a big key.

“I thought our performance defensively was a big plus for us. We were able to force turnovers and score from there.”

Running Fisher out of the building in the first quarter, the Rams outscored Fisher 38-10 to start the game.

“Defense was the driving force from us breaking out to such an early lead,” Edwards said. “We came out pressing in the first half and that is what led to us being able to get so many easy baskets and get that big lead.

“We were able to score a lot of points and easy baskets off of those turnovers which allowed us to really jump out and never look back.”
