LAPLACE – Rainey Perry and Albert Johnson are the 2005 Queen and King of the Twin Oaks Nursing Home Carnival Ball.
The two residents were crowned on Monday in front of a crowd of more than 200 people in the home’s Community Room.
Datrione Kennedy, Director of Volunteer Services, welcomed the crowd of relatives, friends and community members. “We are here to celebrate our residents,” he said.
Complete with tuxedos and after-five dresses, the King, Queen and their court presided over the event. A special toast was given, and short biographies of the royal members were mentioned, as well as acknowledgement of past Kings and Queens.
The Lizzard Creek Ramblers, a local musical group, played background music during the afternoon event.
The Royal Court also consists of Maids Lillian Haag, Lucy Gillory, Cathy Louque, Celmira Chopskie, Shirley Vessier, Earline Weber, Victoria Jones, and Theresa Haydel.
Dukes this year are Robert Fugler, Irby Gaubert, Deodies Curry, Leroy Waguespack, Joe Isom, and Malcolm Donaldson.
