BANKS
RESERVE – Matthew Banks Jr., 60, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 3. He was the husband of the late Trisha Audrey Banks, and father of Shawnea McDonald, Marethia Jackson, Melvin Banks, and the late Marvin Banks.
He was also the son of the late Matthew Sr., and Harriet Clement Banks, and brother of Marva Carter, Peggy Barnes, Cheryl Perrilloux, Meta Agnew, Leo Smith, Carl, Darryl, and the late Mary Banks.
He is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 9 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Reserve.
BOUDREAUX
PAULINA – Marietta Lee Boudreaux, 34, a resident of Paulina, died Dec. 8. She was the daughter of James Boudreaux and Gayle Gauthe, stepdaughter of David Gauthe and Rita Boudreaux, sister of Melissa, and the late Brett Boudreaux, and stepsister of Brandy Duplessis and David Gauthe.
She was also the grandchild of the late Wilson and Georgia Champagne, Mariette Boudreaux and step-grandmother Emily Boudreaux.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
DUHON
LUTCHER – Bertha Ruiz Duhon, 90, a native of Smoke Bend and resident of Lutcher, died Dec. 6. She was the wife of the late Rene Duhon, and mother of Patricia Bailey, Beverly Noble and Renee Griffin.
She was also the daughter of the late Frank and Angeline Maurisse Ruiz, and is preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 9 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Lutcher, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
HANNEN
LULING – William “Bill” D. Hannen, 59, a native of Washington, Pa., and resident of Luling for 22 years, died Dec. 5. He was the husband of Pamela Warwick Hannen and father of Mary “Molly,” Scott and Lt. Timothy Hannen.
He was also the brother of Robert Hannen.
He was active in the St. Charles Parish Recreation Department and a past president of the St. Charles Rotary Club.
Services were Dec. 9 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling.
LeMAY
METAIRIE – Washington LeMay, 921, a native of Newellton and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 3. He was the husband of the late Jessie Perkins LeMay, and father of John LeMay.
He was also the son of the late John and Celeste LeMay, and is preceded in death by seven sisters and brothers.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 9 at Rising Star Baptist Church, Metairie, with interment at Restlawn Memorial Park, Avondale.
LEWIS
DES ALLEMANDS – Oliver Lewis, 77, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Pineville, died Dec. 4. He was the son of the late Bertha Chandler and Dave Lewis Sr., and brother of the late Thelma Pitts, Elmira Bullocks, Opal Williams, Odessa Boyd, Dave Jr., Clarence, Rodney and Herbert Lewis.
Services are today at 10 a.m., at Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands, with interment at Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
LOCKETT
KILLONA – Clifford Lockett Sr., 59, a native and resident of Killona, died Dec. 5. He was the husband of Evelyn Strickland Lockett and father of Dedra Downing, Tracy Howard, Clifford Jr., Marlene, Keith and Quana Lockett.
He was also the son of Genevia Lee Lockett, and the late Dallas Lockett, and brother of Judy Strickland, Olivia, Roland, Sidney, Raymond, Milton and Almond Lockett, and the late Louise Lockett.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at Children of Israel Baptist Church, Killona, with interment at Greenhill Cemetery, Taft. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
McGEE
RESERVE – James McGee, 90, a native of Harriston, Miss., and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 1. He was the husband of Sedonia R. McGee.
He was also the brother of Emma Coleman, Martha and Pearly McGee.
He was a World War II veteran and received the Victory Medal. He was also a Godchaux-Henderson Refinery.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at Rescue Mission Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
McKNIGHT
LAPLACE – Clara Mae Lee McKnight, 59, a native of Norwood and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 2. She was the wife of Lawrence McKnight and mother of Kimberly Handy, Pamelyn and Lawrence McKnight Jr.
She was also the daughter of Martha Lee Wilson, and the late George Lee, and sister of Alice Gales, Martha Edwards, Betty Faye London, Sam, Jesse, Corean, and the late David and George Lee Jr.
Services were Dec. 10 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
MORTON
VACHERIE – Rosana Morton, 57, a native of St. James and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 6. She was the mother of Daphne Adams, Mavis Batiste, Bruce, Mark and Gavin Morton.
She was also the daughter of the late Noble and Olivia Johnson Morton, and sister of Mary Winfield, Joyce, Noble, Howard, Alvin, Robert, Vernon and Roger Morton.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
RUSHING
LAPLACE – Lloyd “Bucky” Rushing, 77, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 7. He was the husband of Daisy Keller Rushing and father of Lisa Swanson.
He was also the son of the late Henry and Denise Rushing, and brother of Doris Tremonte, Mildred Englade, and the late John Rushing.
He is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 9 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
WRIGHT
EDGARD – John Allen “Big Al” “Big Time” Wright Sr., 76, a native of Mobile, Ala., and resident of Edgard, died Dec. 5.
He was the husband of Orella Jasmine Wright and father of Betty Franklin, Valerie Wright, Alicia London, John Jr., Mark “Jo-Jo,” and David Wright, and the late Cheri Fields, and stepfather of Levern Jack and Antoine Jasmine.
He was also the son of the late David and Bessie Wright, and brother of Velma Sanders and Charles Wright. He is preceded in death by two brothers and one sisters.
He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
