Andry

LAPLACE – George E. Andry Sr., 73, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 10. He was the husband of Phyllis Andry, father of Phyllis, Rhonda and George “Tee” Andry Jr., and stepfather of Jaynell Zeller, Melissa Frerichs and Sherrill Galloway.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

He was retired from River Parishes Oil Co.

Services were Nov. 16 at Woodland Community Center, LaPlace.

AUGUST

EDGARD – Harry “Jake” August, 75, a native of Lucy and resident of Edgard, died Nov. 10. He was the husband of Elaine Lapeyrolerie August and father of Gina Ejike, Kevin, Kirk and Ken August.

He was also the son of the late Joseph and Alma Antonio August, and brother of Maryann and Steve Pierre, and the late Furlough, Edward, Raymond, Claude and Casimere August.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 16 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.

BERGERON

LULING – Lydia Nicholas Bergeron, 99, a native of Taft and resident of Luling for 78 years, died Nov. 12. She was the mother of Martha Champagne, Betty Champagne, Shirley Dufrene, Linton and Douglas Bergeron.

She was also the sister of Julia Tastet.

She is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were Nov. 15 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling.

JACOB

NORCO – Vivian Beebe Jacob, a resident of Norco, died Nov. 11. She was the mother of Mary Blanchard, Julia Montegut and Francis Jacob and stepmother of Brenda Ridgedell.

She was also the sister of Julie Buehen.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 15 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

PAYNE

KENNER – Johnie Payne Sr., 70, a resident of New Sarpy, died Nov. 5. He was the husband of Elnora Payne and father of Josie Jones, Kiesler Sanders, Cassandra and Tanganyika Payne.

He was also the son of Sylvester Payne and brother of Elmira Leonard, Verlee Isaac, Pauline Wilson, Gwen Blakes and Verteal Payne.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

He was a retired machinist.

Services were Nov. 13 at Sweet Home Christian Center, Kenner, with interment at Providence Memorial Park, Metairie.

ROBERT

HAHNVILLE – Eunice Gaubert Robert, 88, a native and resident of Luling, died Nov. 10. She was the wife of Lawrence Robert Sr., and mother of Elaine St. Pierre, Lawrence Jr., and Ralph Robert Sr.

She was also the daughter of the late Ambrose and Leah Zeringue Gaubert, and sister of Ethel Keller, Ledah Rae Cantrelle and Irby Gaubert, and the late Agnes Adams, Lawrence, Emmerson, Norman, Clifford and Dennis Gaubert.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchilden.

Services were Nov. 15 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

TOUPS

LAPLACE – Hazel “Nana” “Sister” “Missy” Toups, 78, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 8. She was the wife of the late Joseph Toups.

She was also the daughter of the late Curtis and Orelia Randle, and sister of the late Matthew Randle Sr.

Services were Nov. 15 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace.

ZERINGUE

DESTREHAN – Leola Justin Robert Zeringue, 73, a native and resident of Ama, died Nov. 8. She was the wife of Huey Joseph Zeringue and mother of Lisa Fontenot, Lori, Valarie, Jan and Mark Zeringue, and the late Aubert and Keith Zeringue.

She was also the daughter of the late Ernestine Hymel and Joseph Robert, and sister of Ernestine Kappel, Lydia Robert, Marcel and Francis Robert, and the late Anna Mae, Odette and Andrew Robert.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

She was a Girl Scout leader and for 20 years, served as a public health nurse.

Services were Nov. 12 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church cemetery.
