ALEXANDER
EDGARD – Ethel “Big Mom” Alexander, 95, a native and resident of Edgard, died Nov. 4. She was the mother of Lucille Brown, Gloria Jackson, Carolyn Wallace, Darnell Jackson, Debra Cummens, Andrew, Milton and Irvin Alexander, and the late Sedonia Bailey, Ethel Mae Louis, Warren and Perkin Alexander Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Robert and Antoinette Borne Weber, and sister of Melvin Weber, and the late Romalie Miller, Herman, Sam, Robert, Claude and Antoine Weber.
She is also survived by 42 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
BERTHELOT
GRAMERCY – Theresa Millet Berthelot, 78, a resident of St. James Parish, died Nov. 5. She was the wife of the late Joseph Berthelot Sr., and mother of Ellsca Delatte, Theresa “Tess,” Adele, Joseph Jr., and Sidney Berthelot.
She was also the daughter of the late Sidney and Adele Millet, and sister of Jerome “Jerry,” and Godfrey Millet.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
She was a teacher in St. James and St. John the Baptist parishes.
Services were Nov. 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
EASTERLING
LAPLACE – Patricia Savoie Easterling, 58, a native of Reserve and resident of Tickfaw for 20 years, died Nov. 6. She was the daughter of Elda Mae Luminais Savoie, and the late Sidney Savoie Jr., and sister of Pamela Madere, Andrea Davidson, and the late Sidney Savoie III.
Services were Nov. 9 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
MARTIN
NORCO – Linda Jean Martin, 54, a native of Norco and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 3. She was the wife of James Martin and mother of Barry, Randolph, Patrick, Byron and Rondell Martin.
She was also the daughter of Sadie Mae Scott, and the late Harry Scott Sr., and sister of Betty Bailey, Beverly, Gwendolyn, Harry Jr., Tyrone, and the late Roger Scott Sr.
She is also survived by 24 grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 8 at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at Montz Memorial Park.
ST. PIERRE
PAULINA – Manuel “Black” St. Pierre, a resident of Paulina, died Nov. 4. He was the husband of Noemie Forsyth St. Pierre and father of Manuel Jr., Al Sr., and Joy St. Pierre, and the late Louis St. Pierre.
He was also the son of Louis Sr. and Hermina Loupe St. Pierre, and brother of Briget Martin, Margarite Brown, Lorraine Matherne, Ina Mae Veron, Ida Louise Roddy, Jessie, John, Warren, Harry, Freddie, Glynn and George St. Pierre, and the late Louis St. Pierre Jr.
He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two grandchildren.
He was a Korean Conflict veteran, Colonial Sugar retiree and member of VFW Post 5852 and St. James Boat Club.
Services were Nov. 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.
