River Parishes Hospital held its 2004 Andouille Run Sunday, October 24 in conjunction with the annual St. John Parish Andouille Festival.
Over 150 people participated in the 5-mile run and 2-mile run/walk.
The overall winners in the 2-mile run/walk were: Jesse LeBlanc with a time of 11 minutes and 42 seconds, and Angel Gassen with a time of 17 minutes and 18 seconds. The overall winners in the 5-mile race were: Andrew Lilly with a time of 30 minutes and 21 seconds, and Kelley Carambat with a time of 39 minutes and 43 seconds.
They were each awarded with a plaque, a stick of andouille and a mug and thermos set from River Parishes Hospital.
Prizes were then awarded to the top 15 men and women in the 2-mile race and to the 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place winners in each age group of the 5-mile race. River Parishes Hospital would like to thank its sponsors: Mike Williams, State Farm Insurance, and Jacob’s World Famous Andouille. They would also like to thank the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Community Relations Division for their help in coordinating the event, and the many volunteers who offered their assistance on race day.
“We are proud to be a part of St. John Parish’s annual Andouille Festival,” said Carrie Fisk, hospital Marketing Director.
“It is one of the biggest and most commemorative events in our community. Participation in the run has grown tremendously over the past few years, and we hope to continue to make it a favorite among the runners in the parish.”
