More than 200 people gathered on SCC’s softball field recently, 2004 to pray the rosary for Brittany Vicknair, a 2004 SCC graduate, who was diagnosed with meningitis on Oct. 10.
The rosary was the idea of family friend Jill Eichhorn, who heard about Brittany’s habit of going out to third base when she needed to pray. Each prayer was represented by an orange balloon, which is Brittany’s favorite color.
As each prayer was completed, the balloon was released into the air. George and Rachel Vicknair, Brittany’s parents, have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from the community. Their only request was to “double up on your prayers and continue praying for our baby.”
