LAPLACE – A man identified as being the robber of Bank One on Airline Highway on July 27 was arrested after he committed another armed robbery in Jefferson Parish, said Capt. Michael Tregre with the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office.
“He will be formally charged later this week. He will also be charged with a number of other bank robberies,” said Tregre.
According to Tregre, the alleged multiple bank robber is being held in Jefferson Parish until he can be charged in the federal system by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
He said a photograph, along with the man’s identity, will be released once he’s been formally charged.
When asked about the capture, Sheriff Wayne L. Jones of St. John Parish said, “I feel we have a very good case. We look forward to obtaining a conviction.”
The FBI, the St. John Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office are working jointly on the case.
