Baloney receives MVP Award
Courtney Baloney, a Garyville resident and graduate of St. Charles Catholic High School, was honored at the Xavier University Athletic Awards Banquet this week. Baloney received the MVP Award as a member of the Men’s Cross Country and Track Team at Xavier. Baloney is a captain of the team. He also led his team to the 2003 NAIA Region 13 Championship and the NAIA National Championships for the first time in school history.
Hahnville to conduct wrestling camp for kids
Hahnville High School will conduct a wrestling camp for ages 5-13 at the Hahnville gym June 14-18 from 9am-noon. Early registration fee is $60, with walk-ins paying $65. Fee includes camp t-shirt, before care and snacks during camp. Campers will learn technique, goal setting, discipline, winning attitude, working with individuals and coordination and strength development. Spaces are limited. Youth Foundation seeks teams
The Sports For Youth Foundation is now accepting High School volleyball teams, Club volleyball teams, and individual volleyball players for the 2004 Goodwill Ambassadors International Volleyball exchange program. The program is open to both Canadian and American boy’s and girls. Members of this years team will represent, their Country, Community and the Goodwill Ambassadors teams, in volleyball tournaments and local competitions in, London, Paris, Geneva, Venice and Rome.
