MANCAHAC – A cochon de lait and cook-off fund-raising event will be held on June 6 at 10 a.m. to benefit the Florida Parishes Children’s Special Olym-pics.

Sponsored by Gator’s Den on Old Highway 51 South in Manchac, the event will feature live entertainment, a cook-off contest, door prizes, giveaways and more, said General Manager Vic Benintende and Assistant Manager Janice Finley.

Sample plates will cost $5 and will include a variety of entrees such as oyster spaghetti, shrimp fettuccine, alligator sauce piqu-ant, boneless stuffed hogs and red beans and rice, all made by area chefs. Those who buy tickets in advance or at the event may choose from any of the sampled items, the organizers said.

All proceeds to be donated to Bayou Land Parishes Special Olympics. Come out and show your support.
