How would you like to learn about a foreign country’s culture, language, traditions and lifestyle and contribute world peace? Colleen Robinson, Local Coordinator for Academic Year in America (AYA) high school exchange program, is presently interviewing families to host an international student during the coming school year. Boys and girls, 15-18 years of age, will arrive in mid-August from European, South American and Asian countries to attend high school for one semester or the full school year.
All students have studied English, have their own spending money, pay for their own school lunches and have full medical insurance.
Peter Szemcak, a 17-year-old AYA Student from Hungry, hopes to be placed in New Orleans. He loves New Orleans jazz and blues and plays the trumpet. His mother is a doctor and his father is an architect. Peter is a straight-A student.
If you are interested in hosting Peter or another student, or would like more information about AYA, contact Colleen Robinson at 504-879-0207.
