RESERVE – The St. James boys track team for the second meet in a row took home first place overall with a 123.5 total. In the girls division, Karr took home first place with an overall point total of 115. Other River Parish schools, such as St. Charles Catholic and Riverside Academy, had respectable finishes.

For the second consecutive meet, Riverside’s Allison Zeringue surpassed her own personal best in the high jump with a leap of 5’4″. Zeringue also took home first place in the Triple Jump with a jump of 29’2″.

St. Charles Catholic finished near the top in several field events. Natalie Miller finished in fifth place in the Javelin with a throw of 61’1″. In the discuss throw, Miller claimed second place with a distance of 82’111/2″.

Holly Ocmand of Riverside took home first place in the shot put with a throw of 30’41/2″.

The lone pole vaulter was Riverside’s Lacie Laiche, who cleared 7’0″.

In the high jump, other than Zeringue, St. Charles Catholic’s Chantelle Calmes and Riverside’s Christy Englade finished tied for fourth with 4’4″.

In the long jump, Riverside claimed third and fourth place while St. Charles Catholic took fifth. Amber Shephard of Riverside got third place with a distance of 13’11”, while Hannah Levin finished at 13’3″. Meghan Pecoraro finished in fifth place with a leap of 12’9″.

Two more Comets took home first place in track events. Danielle Mathews finished in first place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.84, while Rynique Perkins got first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.96

Perkins also finished in first place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.19

Lavryn Burns of SCC won first place in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13.57.

Overall, the girls division saw Riverside finish in second place with 104.5 points, while St. Charles Catholic claimed third place with a total of 72.5

The boys division had St. Charles Catholic’s Mark Murphy finish in first place in the javelin with a throw of 151’10”. Peter Millet finished in fourth place in the javelin, while Riverside’s Wes Hotard took home fifth.

West St. John finished one and two in the discuss throw. Jeremy Moll took home second place with a throw of 121’11”. St. Charles Catholic’s Daniel LeBlanc took home first place with a throw of 49’1/2″, while West St. John’s Tyson Jackson placed second with 43’8 1/2. Riverside’s Josh Labiche and claimed second place in the high jump with a leap of 6’2″.

Thomas Augusta of West St. John got first place in the triple jump with 43’7″.

In the 1,600 meter run, Jesse LeBlanc of RA took home first place, while fellow Riverside runner Moe Ahmad got fourth place with 5:40.

St. Charles and Riverside finished first, second and third in the boys 800 meter run. Layne Labat of Riverside got first place with a time of 2:11.98, Mike Pecoraro of St. Charles Catholic finished in second, 2:12, and LeBlanc finished in third with 2:13.

Riverside finished overall in second with 73 points and St. Charles Catholic finished in fifth with 39 points.

In addition, West St. John took home fourth overall.

RA hosted the meet, which was last Wednesday afternoon.
