St. John
ANDERSON
DESTREHAN – Bradley David Anderson, 17, a native of Dallas and resident of Destrehan, died Feb. 5. He was the son of Gene Anderson of Palm Beach Springs, Fla., and Mary Beth Kugler Anderson of Destrehan, and brother of Callie Anderson.
He was also the grandchild of Charles and Thelma Kugler, and Charles and Martha Anderson.
He was an honor student, member of the Wise Conservation Club, Science Olympiad and Literary Rally representative.
Services were Feb. 10 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.
BECNEL
RESERVE – Walter “BoBoy” Becnel, 67, a native of Lions and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 6. He was the son of the late Leo and Viola Scioneaux Becnel, and brother of Pauline Stein, Bertha Vicknair, Larry, and the late Donald, Roger and Leon Becnel.
Services were Feb. 10 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
BRIGNAC
PAULINA – John Emmett Brignac, 84, a resident of Lutcher for 50 years, died Feb. 8. He was the husband of 65 years of Enola Louque Brignac and father of Judy Songy, Bonnie Louque and J.E. Brignac Jr., and the late Carey “K-Boy” Brignac.
He was also the son of the late Fortunat and Aimee Becnel Brignac, and brother of J.P. Brignac, and the late Anna Lee Sehrt, Andrew, Francis and Bobby Brignac.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was a retiree of Colonial Sugars.
Services were Feb. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.
GROW
LAPLACE – Byron G. Grow Sr., 58, a native of Vacherie and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 5. He was the husband of Dianne Thomas Grow and father of Wendy Washington, Aleshia and Byron Grow Jr.
He was also the son of the late Henriette Phillips and Norbert Grow, and brother of Delores Dumas, Henriette Jesse, and the late Bertacelle Batiste.
He is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at New Wine Christian Fellowship Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
HOTARD
DONALDSONVILLE – Diana Lee Nickens Hotard, 51, a native of Evansville, Ind. and resident of Vacherie for 15 years, died Feb. 7. She was the wife of Roger Easton and mother of Dawn Hodges, Joey and Christopher Baudoin.
She was also the daughter of the late Charles “Dutch” and Lucille Patterson Nickens, and sister of Terry Dufrene, Linda Murray and Robert Nickens.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 9 in the chapel of Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, with interment at a later date at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, South Vacherie.
LANDRY
LULING – Mary DeBautte Landry, 74, a native of Ama and resident of Luling for 40 years, died Feb. 5. She was the wife of the late Lamar “Bougar” Landry Sr., and mother of Lamar “Amie” Landry Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Daniel and Irene Robert DeBautte, and sister of Audrey Zeringue, Helen Haik, Daniel, and the late Clifford DeBautte.
Services were Feb. 9 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
LAPEYROLERIE
EDGARD – Gayle Lapeyrolerie, 87, a native and resident of Lucy, died Feb. 5. He was the companion of Marie August.
He was also the brother of Harold Lapeyrolerie.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was a retired sugar mill operator.
Services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 9 a.m. on Feb. 12.
MATT
LEONVILLE – Bonnie Lanclos Matt, 54, a native of Leonville and resident of LaPlace for 33 years, died Feb. 8. She was the wife of Zana Matt and mother of Vivian Badeaux, Joseph and Lillian Matt.
She was also the daughter of the late Allen and Lillian Laclos, stepdaughter of the late Beulah Laclos, and sister of Eugene and Nettie Laclos.
She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services are today at 1 p.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Leonville, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
SHEALY
GARYVILLE – Richard Shealy, 50, a native of New Orleans and resident of Oklahoma City, died Feb. 3. He was the companion of Hattie Fisher and father of Mushondra and Tenisha Shealy.
He was also the son of Alice Picou Shealy, and the late Thomas Shealy.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
Dismissal services were Feb. 10 in the chapel of Baloney Funeral Home, Garyville, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
SILLARS
LAPLACE – Thomas C. Sillars, 81, a native and resident of New Orleans, died Feb. 8. He was the husband of the late Ruby Beadle Sillars, and father of Amanda Dudenhefer and Jeb Sillars.
He was also the son of the late Percy and Mary Sillars, and brother of Elaine Supren.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
WALL
NEW ORLEANS – Anna Michael Wall, 75, a resident of Destrehan, died Feb. 8. She was the wife of Theodore Wall, and the late William Wall Sr., and mother of William Wall Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Claire Mitchell and Daniel Michael, and sister of William Beecher, Daniel Michael Jr., and the late Myrtle Giroir and May Santangelo.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a retired insurance risk specialist, former employee of The Insurance Market Place and Louisiana Risk Specialist. She was a past president and board member of Insurance Women of Greater New Orleans, which twice named her Insurance Woman of the Year. She also assisted in establishing the New Orleans Insurance Institute.
Services are today at noon in the chapel of All Faiths Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
