St. John the Baptist Parish

ALEXANDER

HAHNVILLE – Amy Thomas Alexander, 64, a native of Edgard and resident of Hahnville, died Aug. 19. She was the wife of the late Herbert Alexander Sr., and mother of Trudy Love, Gaynell Armstrong, Charlene Armstrong, Karen, Herbert Jr., Vinee and Danny Alexander, and the late Alvary and Timothy Alexander.

She was also the daughter of the late Irene Turner and William Thomas Sr., and sister of Wilhelmina Bartholomew and Wilberine Anderson, and the late Agnes Borne, Augustine, Raymond, Wilfred, Wilbert, Irvy and William Thomas.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were Aug. 22 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft.

ANDERSON

LUTCHER – Daniel Anderson Sr., 52, a resident of Lutcher, died Aug. 17. He was the husband of Joyce Favorite Anderson and father of Daniel Anderson Jr. and Donovan Elder.

He was also the son of the late Jessie and Helen Green Anderson, and brother of Helen Ferguson, Carrie Emerson, Joyce Ricks and Jessie Anderson.

Services were Aug. 22 at King Solomon Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.

ANDERSON

KENNER – Lawrence Gary Anderson Sr., 65, a native of Magee, Miss. and resident of Norco for 16 years, died Aug. 19. He was the husband of Rubie Lambert Anderson and father of Michael and Lawrence Anderson Jr.

He was also the brother of Margie Gregory, Ruby McLain, Linda Harrison, Jerline Johnson, Junior and Vernon Anderson.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired security guard.

Services were Aug. 22 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kenner, with interment at Biloxi National Cemetery.

AUTH

GARYVILLE – Herman “Randy” Auth, 80, a native of Maryland and resident of Garyville for nine years, died Aug. 19. He was the husband of Edith Auth and father of Eileen Esper, Patty Harrington, Randy, Robert and John Auth, and the late Debra Ann Auth.

He was also the brother of Sr. Helen Marie and George Auth.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville.

DAVIS

EDGARD – Martha Wilson Davis, 56, a native of Edgard and resident of Slidell, died Aug. 15. She was the wife of Jefferson Davis and mother of Monique and Jefferson Davis Jr.

She was also the daughter of Elnora Wilson, and the late Etienne Wilson, and sister of Juanita Grimes, Maldine Dilbert, Wilbert and Jackie Wilson.

She is also survived by four grandchildren.

She was a housekeeper for Concerned Maids.

Services were Aug. 22 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.

DeLANEUVILLE

RESERVE – Marie Battard DeLaneuville, 89, a native and resident of Reserve, died Aug. 20. She was the wife of the late Lloyd DeLaneuville, and mother of Brenda Keating, Huey, Arthur, Wayne “Do-Do” and Ronnie DeLaneuville.

She was also the daughter of the late Frank and Lea Battard, and sister of Therese Picton, Blanche Vicknair and Frank Battard, and the late Ruth Mills, Viola Miller anad Anthony Battard.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 22 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

GARRETT

VACHERIE – Kevin James Garrett, 19, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Aug. 14. He was the son of Isaac III and Carolyn K. Garrett and brother of Randy, Latisha and Christine Garrett.

He was also the grandchild of Lawrence Kennedy, and the late Clara Kennedy, Isaac Jr. and Mary Garrett.

Services were Aug. 20 at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

GONZALES

MANCHAC – Sarah Zito Gonzales, 72, a native of New Orleans and resident of Manchac for 12 years, died Aug. 16. She was the wife of 56 years of Bernard “Bennie” Gonzales and mother of Frank Gonzales.

She was also the sister of Phillip Zito and half-sister of Charlie Robin.

Memorial services were Aug. 22 at Manchac Baptist Church, Manchac.

JACKSON

METAIRIE – Lamont Joseph Jackson, 23, a native of Metairie and resident of LaPlace for several years, died Aug. 17. He was the son of Frank II and Laura Sinceno Jackson and brother of Latysha Jackson and Joshua Brooks.

He was also the grandchild of Frank Jr. and Betty Jackson.

Services are today at noon at Second New Guide Missionary Baptist Church, Metairie, with interment at Providence Memorial Park. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

LAPEYROLERIE

RESERVE – Elma Marie Felicia Lapeyrolerie, 85, a native and resident of Reserve, died Aug. 18. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Felicia Lapeyrolerie,and sister of the late Maurice, Charles, Marie Celeste, Jean Felix, Francois and Dave Lapeyrolerie.

She was also the aunt of Winthrop, Dionne, Delia, Joyce, Dave Jr., and the late Frank and Raymond Lapeyrolerie.

She was a retired teacher in the St. John the Baptist Parish public school system

Services were Aug. 22 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

LYNCH

LAPLACE – Rita Jouty Lynch, 83, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 18. She was the wife by first marriage of the late Frank Jouty Jr. and by second marriage of the late Cecil Lynch, and mother of Barbara Poche, and the late Frank Jouty Jr.

She was also the sister of the late Henry, Louis, Evelyn, Marie, Florence, Nolia, Margaret and Victoria.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 19 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

MINNICH

LULING – Robert Allen “Bob” Minnich, 76, a native of Weston, W. Va, and resident of Luling for 36 years, died Aug. 16. He was the husband of Betty N. Minnich and father of Sue Madere, Mike and Barry Minnich.

He was also the son of the late L.A. and Ruth H. Minnich, and brother of the late William Minnich.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one grandchild.

He was a retired employee and maintenance supervisor of Union Carbide, Taft, and a member of the Ever Ready Retiree Club and St. Charles Masonic Lodge No. 445, Paradis.

Services were Aug. 20 at Luling United Methodist Church, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling.
