God is always on time with exactly what we need. Last week, I needed some encouragement and received the following letter from a young lady I met over 12 years ago when I spoke at an elementary school in Tangipahoa Parish. We kept in touch for a few years, but lost contact over six years ago.
“Dear Mr. Keller:
I was so glad to hear that you had visited my mother’s friend, Mark. I knew I would be able to get in touch with you again.
I believe I was about 10 years old when I met you, because I was in the fifth grade. I am now 22 years old. I have been married for over two years to a wonderful man. We are both children’s ministers of our “kids’ church.” Actually, we were the ones who began it at our church.
I am also a junior at Southeastern University. My major is elementary education. I have about two years left before I graduate. I plan one day to be a principal of a Christian school. But right now, the matter is in God’s hands.
My husband and I purchased a little house a little over a year ago. He is in business for himself.
I also have the privilege of tutoring a 13-year-old.
God has called both of us to work with young children and teen-agers. We are only at the beginning of what God has in store for us. He has blessed us so much and we are so grateful.
Last year, one of my brothers who was on drugs committed suicide. Through this terrible tragedy, my other brothers have decided to give up drugs.
I’m believing that all of my family will soon be saved.
Well, I guess I’ve said enough.
Please let me now how you and your family are doing. Thanks for all that you have done for me. You have been a good role model and such a good friend.
